Remarks:
T2 responded to a report of a vehicle fire. Upon arrival, T2 found a well-involved pickup truck with heavy fire showing, and an
apartment building as exposure. T2 established command and requested two additional units.
T2 FF stretched cross lay for fire attack. Multiple large explosions were heard from the vehicle. T2 made access to the apartment
immediately adjacent to the fire to confirm occupants were out of the apartment. Windows and doors closed prior to exiting. T2 FF
with aggressive attack and knockdown of fire. Motor compartment and cab involved, total loss of those areas.
T1 arrived at scene and assigned to assess building and electrical meter area. Some damage noted to the meter lenses. No obvious
damage to the building found. Some damage sustained to a tree.
Exorbitant is used to capture runoff after knockdown. No water entering any creek locations.
The owner of the vehicle described starting up his vehicle and hearing an odd noise. He then began backing out of the parking stall,
and his dashboard electronics flashed, followed by the truck dying. He then noted smoke coming from the motor compartment and
placed the vehicle in park in a safe location. He then opened the hood and noted smoke. The motor compartment then erupted in
flames. 911 activated.
