Special Meeting of the Tourism Business Improvement District Board
CALL TO ORDER
The special meeting of the San Luis Obispo Tourism Business Improvement District Board was
called to order on October 26, 2022, at 10:09 a.m. by Chair Clint Pearce.
ROLL CALL
Present: Chair Clint Pearce, Vice Chair LeBren Harris Member Pragna Patel-Mueller, Megan
Taylor and Lori Keller
Absent: Member Lydia Bates, and Pashant Patel
Staff: Tourism Manager Molly Cano
PUBLIC COMMENT ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA

BUSINESS ITEMS
1. SUMMER MIDWEEKEND WRAP UP & PROMOTION RECOMMENDATION
Tourism Manager Molly Cano and Hayley Corbett, Danni Winter and Gabbi Hall Noble
Studios and Hollie West, SLO Chamber and Katy McGrath, Badger Branding presented the
results of the Summer Midweekend promotion and discuss promotion recommendations
with the Board for the next promotional offer period.

ACTION: MOTION BY VICE CHAIR HARRIS AND SECONDED BY MEMBER PATEL
CARRIED 5-0 (with Members Bates and Pashant Patel absent) to approved moving forward
with the staff recommendation but adding February 19 as a blackout date.
2. 2023-25 COUNCIL GOAL SETTING DISCUSSION
Tourism Manager Molly Cano presented the proposed goals to submit from the TBID to City
Council for the goal setting process.

ACTION: The Board reviewed the submitted goals and made modifications. The final goals
will be presented to the Board at the November 9, 2022 meeting.
3.2023 SPARTAN RACE CO-OP SUPPORT CONSIDERATION
Tourism Manager Molly Cano presented an opportunity for a marketing co-op support with
Visit SLO CAL for the return of the Spartan Race in November 2023.

ACTION: By consensus the Board expressed interest in continued sponsorship, but directed
staff to find out more information regarding how on how everything would work.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 11 :15 a.m. The next Tourism Business lmprovement District Board
meeting is scheduled for November 9, 2022, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. held at City Hall.
