I am a journalist at The San Francisco Standard making this request under the California Public Records
Act. On behalf of The Standard, I am requesting all available data on concealed carry weapons (CCW)
license applications received, approved, and denied by your agency from Jan. 1, 2015 to the date this
request is processed.
This data may include:
- Application date
- Applicant name
- Disposition of application (rejected, accepted, etc.)
- Disposition date (i.e. date of rejection or license issuance)
- License number
- Current license status (is the license active? expired? revoked?)
- Date of status change (i.e. date of expiration, revocation, etc.)
- Applicant county of residence
- Applicant city of residence
- Applicant zip code of residence
- Applicant address
- Applicant date of birth
- Applicant sex
To be clear, I am providing the above fields of information simply to be clear about what records I am
requesting. If there are additional fields in the data your agency maintains, I request that you include
those too. I am not requesting that your agency create a record.
If your agency stores this data in spreadsheets (CSV, Excel, etc.), I request it in that format. I am
interested specifically in records that would allow me to track how many CCW licenses your agency has
approved (and denied) by year since 2015.
