Subject:SLOMA EXPANSION
Honorable Council Members:
I write to encourage you to support SLOMA’s expansion plans. At $2.5 million, it’s a relatively small investment
of City dollars to inject a lot of energy into downtown SLO. As you weigh the pros and cons, please consider
this: How will you feel three years from now if those store fronts remain underutilized, or worse, vacant? As you
think about how else you can spend $2.5 million over the next couple of years, can you, realistically, invest in
something that would have a greater return on the economic vitality of downtown SLO?
I know you have many competing demands for your limited funds, so I know this won’t be an easy decision.
But I believe you can be reasonably confident it will be money well spent.
