Subject:Support of Promotion of Aaron Floyd Director of Public Works and Utilities
Dear Madam Mayor and City Council,
On behalf of Downtown SLO staff and business community, I am writing my strong support of Aaron
Floyd continuing in his role of Director of Public Works and Utilities as well as formally establishing that
position in the City. Downtown SLO has a very special relationship with the Public Works and
Utilities Departments on events and efficient execution. During Aaron’s interim appointment, it has been
an absolute pleasure working with him. He has and continues to be actively engaged with the downtown
business community both visible and meaningful through his collaborative approach. His presence is
felt and has been greatly appreciated.
Aaron played an active role addressing the challenges with commercial truck loading in downtown. His
thoughtful contributions, insights and boots on ground during the evaluation process showed his
continued dedication to the business community. It demonstrated his understanding of the important
role downtown plays in the city's economic vitality.
I look forward to continuing working with Aarin in our partnership and confident Aaron will excel in this
new capacity!
