These funds were designated toward our Jack's Assistance Program. Your kindness and support mean more to us than words can adequately express. want to update you on where your funds were spent. As you know, Jack's Helping Hand provides financial assistance to local children struggling with cancer, special needs, and disabilities in San Luis Obispo County up to the age of 21. We fulfill requests for assistance with medical equipment, transportation, food, and lodging for out-of-town appointments and procedures, and help with medical bills when there are no other sources to cover these needs. Additional scholarship programs include our Little Swimmers adaptive aquatics program and Little Riders therapeutic horseback riding program. So far in 2024, we have received over 800 requests from the over 400 children we serve. With the uncertainty of the economy, we saw a 20% increase in the number of new applications and the additional financial assistance for families with children with special medical needs was appreciated.
