Iwant toexpress mystrong opposition totheproposed revocation resolution ofourConditional Use Permit, and tothank you forthethoughtful attention you’vegiven tothis process. Iespecially appreciate thecare with which you raised concerns lastweek about health, safety, and neighborhood welfare — concerns that weshare and are actively working toaddress. DeltaChi ismore than justastudent residence — itisaspace where young menare growing, learning, and becoming accountable leaders. Academic excellence isatthecore ofourfraternity’svalues. We consistently rank among thetopfraternities oncampus forGPA, and that’snoaccident. We prioritize study groups, peer mentorship, and aculture ofmutual academic support. These arenotjust internal benefits — they reflect thekind ofcontribution wewant tomake toourcommunity. We also understand thatwith privilege comes responsibility. That’swhy we’vetaken steps tostrengthen continuity and accountability within ourorganization. We'vebrought ourAlumni Board ofTrustees and Housing Corporation into theprocess toensure long-term support and oversight. We’veelected next year’sleadership and have already begun avalues-based transition. Our goal is nottobe temporarily compliant, buttobesustainably constructive partners inthis community. Revoking ourCUPwould moveus — and likely other chapters — outside ofaframework where expectations, oversight, and accountability arepossible. Instead, weask that theCommission viewthis asanopportunity: tolead aconversation onmodernizing and improving theCUP framework soitcan better serve both neighborhood needs and thepositive potential ofstudent organizations.
