1. CALL TO ORDER
A Regular Meeting of the San Luis Obispo Active Transportation Committee was
called to order on September 18, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Hearing Room
at City Hall, 990 Palm Street, San Luis Obispo, by Chair Otto.
2. PUBLIC COMMENT FOR ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA
Public Comment:

3. CONSENT
3.a CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES – July 17, 2025, ACTIVE
TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE MINUTES
Motion By Member Brooks
Second By Member Mills
To approve the Active Transportation Committee Minutes of July 17, 2025.
Ayes (7): Member Amos, Member Brooks, Member Coari, Member Levin,
Member Mills, Vice Chair Nguyen, and Chair Otto

4. BUSINESS ITEMS
4.a CITYWIDE SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL PLAN

Motion By Member Coari
Second By Member Amos
The committee moves that the Active Transportation Committee create an
ad hoc Safe Routes to School subcommittee, comprised of three
members, that will provide updates and/or recommendations to the Active
Transportation Committee regarding the Safe Routes to School planning,
funding, and outreach efforts to conclude at the end of November 2026.
Ayes (7): Member Amos, Member Brooks, Member Coari, Member Levin,
Member Mills, Vice Chair Nguyen, and Chair Otto
CARRIED (7 to 0)
Chair Garrett Otto appointed members Dave Amos, Kimmie Nguyen, and
Russell Mills to serve on the subcommittee.
5. COMMENT AND DISCUSSION
5.a COMMITTEE MEMBER UPDATES
Active Transportation Committee members provided a brief update.
5.b STAFF UPDATES
Active Transportation Manager Adam Fukushima provided updates on the
following topics:
1. Crossing Improvement at South/King Streets
2. Prado Interchange Value Analysis
3
3. SLOCOG Presenting 2025 SLO Safe Streets Forum on 9/25/25
4. SLO Rideshare Leading “Walktober” throughout the month of
October
5.c FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
Active Transportation Manager Adam Fukushima provided the agenda
forecast.
6. ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 7:42 p.m. The next Regular Meeting of the Active
Transportation Committee is scheduled for November 20, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in
the Council Hearing Room at City Hall, 990 Palm Street, San Luis Obispo.
