Dear City Council,
I’m writing to share my concern regarding the decision not to award Bid Alternate 3—specifically the bike
pump track and skills area—as part of the Righetti Park contract. I understand that the city must balance
many community priorities while also navigating real budget limitations. However, I urge the city to
reconsider including Alternate 3, as a dedicated bike skills facility is something our park system currently
lacks, while the other proposed amenities are already available in several existing parks.
At the very least, I ask that the city commit to installing the creek-access bridge should supplemental
budget funds become available next year. Establishing this critical connection would ensure the bike
park can be built in the future, whether through additional city funding or with the support of community
partners.
