Dear City Council Members,
I am writing to express my concern regarding the decision not to include Bid Alternate 3—the bike pump
track and skills track—in the Righetti Park contract. I recognize that the City must balance a wide range
of community priorities while operating within significant budget constraints. However, I respectfully
request that the Council reconsider the inclusion of Alternate 3, as a bike skills facility of this type is
currently absent from our park system, whereas several of the other proposed amenities are already
available in multiple city parks.
At a minimum, I ask that the City commit to allocating any available supplemental funds in next year’s
budget toward the installation of the bridge needed to provide access across the creek. Completing this
component now would ensure that the bike park can be constructed in the future, whether through City
funding or community-led efforts.
