Dear City Council,
I am writing today to express my concern that the bike pump track and skills track included in Bid
Alternate 3 is not being awarded as part of the Righetti Park contract. I know that the city and
its residents have many desires for what is included in this park, and that they are faced with the reality of
budget constraints. I ask that the city strongly re-consider the inclusion of Alternate 3 in the contract as a
skill facility of this nature is an offering currently missing from our city parks, while the other proposed
facilities exist at several other city parks.
At a minimum, I ask that the city make a commitment to ensuring that any supplemental funds in the city
budget next year be allocated to ensuring the bridge is installed to provide access across the creek as
part of this project to ensure that the bike park can be constructed if funding becomes available in the
future, or through a community effort.
I am really excited for a lot of bicycle riding to be in my family's future, while I have 3 young kids and we're
always looking for places to ride bikes.
Regards,
Ryan Yeo
