I am reaching out to express my strong support for the inclusion of the bike pump track and skills area outlined in Bid Alternate 3 for Righetti Park. I appreciate the thoughtful planning that goes into these decisions and can understand that the city faces budget constraints and must be e?ective in prioritizing certain items. However, a bike skills facility is something our community currently lacks, while many of the other proposed amenities already exist in other parks not far from this neighborhood. Adding this feature would provide a unique and inclusive space for riders of all ages and abilities, promoting healthy outdoor activity and community engagement. This city is known widely for its bicycle transit infrastructure and mountain biking culture. We do have trails in the city, however what we don’t have is a dedicated skills area that is accessible to various skills levels and age levels. At a minimum, we ask that the city commit to installing the bridge across the creek as part of this project. This critical step would ensure future feasibility for the bike park—whether through additional city funding or a community-led initiative. I believe this project aligns perfectly with our vision at Specialized to Pedal the Planet forward, and would be happy to open the conversation with teammates at Specialized about potential sponsorship. Thank you for considering this request and for your continued e?orts to make our parks vibrant and accessible for everyone.
