SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY LOCATIONS
Dear Sir :
The purpose of this report is to transmit the results from Central Coast Tank Testing's
precision tests of the underground storage tanks at your facilities located in Santa Margarita and
San Luis Obispo, California concluded on Saturday, May 26, 1990.
BACKGROUND
The system used to perform the test is the Horner "Ezy-Chek" Tank Testing System. This
system meets or exceeds the NFPA x*329-87 guidelines. These guidelines are the basis of all
mandated requirements at the state, county or local agency levels. The system is capable of
detecting a product volume variance rate of 0.05 gallons per hour. The product volume variance
rate is an equipment tolerance, rather than a permissible leak rate. Central Coast Tank Testing
assumes no responsibility for product leakage. Our responsibility extends only to testing of
tanks as tight or not tight, as of the date tested, according to state compliance guidelines, and
within the accuracy tolerance of the Horner Testing System. Testing methodology is also
included that meets the statistical review of the data collected.
Groundwater was not considered for the testing. The variables in testing; such as tank end
deformation, entrapped vapor, evaporation, and temperature, are noted on the individual data
sheets, if encountered. Testing and preparation comments are also noted.
RESULTS
Santa Margarita Location
Tank 1-10,000 gallon diesel system. This system test was performed over a period of two
hours and tested tight in compliance. The hydrostatic pressure applied to the system was
adequate. The volume change, corrected for the influence of temperature, produces an
improving product volume variance rate of -0.03 to -0.013 yellows per hour.

hours and tested light in compliances The hydrostatic pressure applied to the system was
