SUBJECT: AVERAGE LENGTH OF ADVISORY BODY MEETINGS BY YEAR
RECOMMENDATION
Receive a report on the average length of meetings of 14 Advisory Bodies.
DISCUSSION
Upon review of the report on number of agenda items and length of meetings from the
Council Compensation Committee October 22, 2025 Regular Meeting, the Committee
requested staff provide the average length of meetings of each Advisory Body per year.
They requested that any meeting where quorum, the majority of members of an advisory
body, was not reached be excluded from the calculation of the averages as it could
potentially skew the results. Attachment A provides the average length of each from the
year 2021 to 2024. To calculate the average lengths of each meeting, data was pulled
from the archived Minutes from each of the listed Advisory Bodies from the years 2021 to
2024. The year 2025 was not included as the calendar year has not completed, therefore
any average would not be an accurate representation of the total number of meetings a
body held in that year.
Also requested by the Committee and included in Attachment B is the Tree Committee
(TC) and Tourism Business Improvement District (TBID) spreadsheets showing the
number and lengths of meeting, which was not included previously.
