RE: Good Neighbor Day Financing
On Saturday, May 2, 1992, the Associated Students Inc. of Cal Poly will be sponsoring
the ninth annual Good Neighbor Day. This community wide event is an opportunity for
the students of Cal Poly to work side by side with permanent residents to accomplish
projects that benefit our entire community. Last year our projects included: Jack
House beautification, Delladet Adobe restoration, work at the Homeless Shelter,
cleaning of the downtown area, work at the Children's Museum, and eleven other
worthwhile projects. As a result of its growing success, we are expecting over 1,300
participants in this year's event.
As Good Neighbor Day continues to grow in size and scope, expenses also grow.
Because ASI is a non-profit corporation, we have very limited funds that we are able to
allocate towards this event. Therefore, we must rely upon donations from sources
outside ASI to ensure the continuance of Good Neighbor Day.
We are asking for a donation of $300 from the City of San Luis Obispo. These funds
will be used to promote the event, as well as purchase any supplies, etc., which may be
needed. Following Good Neighbor Day;a breakdown of incurred expenses will be sent
to you for your records.
We appreciate your help in making Good Neighbor Day successful in the past, and we
hope that you will assist us in ensuring another prosperous event this year. We can
assure you that your donation will be well spent. If you have any questions, please
