Primary Narrative:E4, T2, and BC3 responded to above location for smoke check inside structure.
On arrival E4 assumed Forrest IC and reported two story residential with
nothing showing. were outside of the residence and stated
that no one has been home since this morning. Neighbors reported alarms
were sounding but nothing was audible on arrival. E4 operator checked the
electrical panel and no breakers were tripped. E4 Captain and FF entered the
structure with TIC and obvious odor of smoke present and slight haze. Soot
throughout the residence. BC3 arrived on scene and assumed Forrest IC. T2
assisted with finding the cause of the soot and odor. Additionally T2 assisted
with horizontal ventilation. The attic was accessed and appeared clear. E4
operator found the source of the smoke and odor to be a centerpiece on the
dining room table that had a candle in glass that broke causing the centerpiece
to burn (smolder). The resident was advised of the situation. Once all the haze
odor was controlled by ventilation, the occupant was let back into the
residence. No further action was taken and E4, T2, and BC3 cleared incident
and Forrest IC was terminated. See attached photos of the centerpiece.
