Subject:Attention: Parks and Recreation Commission – Emerson Park
Hello,
I own a home directly across the street from Emerson Park at 496 Pismo Street, and am very
concerned that the City will be considering a plan that would take roughly half of Emerson Park’s only
open grassy playfield and convert it into a fenced, off-leash dog park. Please don’t take away the
only children’s playfield serving the Old Town and Emerson neighborhoods or place an off-leash dog
park next to active kids’ areas and homes. This is a cherished, peaceful neighborhood park that is
enjoyed by community members and it will be ruined if an off-leash dog park is built.
