Subject:Laguna Lake Golf Course Study Session - February 3, 2026 - Agenda Item #7
When considering whether or not to re-purpose the Laguna Lake Golf Course please consider that all profit
doesn’t appear on a spreadsheet. The profit in our parks, greenbelt, hiking trails, golf course, and all other
public assets lies in our quality of life. In addition, our city attracts tourists and businesses in large part because
of those public assets and quality of life.
Laguna Lake Golf Course is used by people of all ages, from the First Tee Program through Retired Active
Men tournaments. It’s used for non-profit fund raisers and other special events that benefit the public.
My understanding is that the land for the golf course was donated in perpetuity for exactly the use that it has
enjoyed over the years. It would be unethical to disregard the spirit of that donation.
Please save Laguna.
