Honorable Mayor and SLO City Council Members,
Thank you for your ongoing efforts to provide parks and recreational facilities for San Luis Obispo. We
have enjoyed watching our grandchildren play at Damon-Garcia Sports Complex. We’ve enjoyed
Sinsheimer Park Blues Baseball and the municipal pool for years. We’ve visited the Skate Park and
Pickleball Courts. Along with those, we have enjoyed weekly golf at Laguna Lake Golf Course. All these
facilities are actively used for their intended purposes.
Retiring to play golf is a cliche. I learned how to play golf on a public course very similar to
Laguna. https://alwaystimefor9.com/jaycee-memorial-golf-course-pine-bluff-ar/ That course is in
impoverished Pine Bluff, Arkansas. It is still open, green fees similar to ours. As a result of that start, I’ve
played golf most of my life. Each week I now play, I meet new young adults following my path. Health
willing they will be able to play 70+ years as I have. Golf is truly a lifetime sport. Please continue to
provide a place for all of us to play, from skates to walkers.
