Subject:Laguna Lake Municipal Golf Course
Dear Mayor and SLO City Council,
My name is Jeff Spevack. I am a SLO city resident(50 years), retired local business owner(37 years), and
I'm very proud of our city.
I have played golf at our local public golf course for many years. But I've really been disappointed with the
neglect that the course has seen over the past few years.
Now I know why. as the future of the course is in question.
I am passionately in favor of keeping Laguna Lake Municipal Golf Course open, and making it the gem
that the city can be proud of!
Here are many reasons
1) This is an affordable golf course that everyone(not just the wealthy) can afford to play
2) This is an open green space to get fresh air, exercise, and affordable enjoyment.
3) Not only for seniors! The course benefits elementary school kids(First Tee Program), Special Olympics,
Laguna Middle School, Los Osos Middle School, Morro Bay HIgh School, SLO HIgh School, SLO Classical
Academy, Cal Poly Students, Cal Poly Kinesiology Dept., Slo Cross Country.
4) This is the only public golf course in the city, and should be made into a local gem!!!
I am counting on you to protect,improve,maintain our local golf course!!!
