To Whom it May Concern:
I live in the area of Emerson Park on Leff St. There is a very large community of pet owners in the area that
surrounds it. Yes, there is a dog park but it’s on Madonna Rd in Laguna Park; close but not really.
Will there be some loss of green area in the sure but, the families that have pets deserve to have a park
that accommodates their needs as well. That park has gym equipment for the fitness minded,
playground equipment for the children and toddlers, the garden area for the planters, and the green
area for the ones who want to lounge or tan, or play. BUT nothing for the MANY animal loving homes that
live IN the immediate area.
Does it really need to be 50%? Maybe it could be smaller percentage to accommodate everyone? Surely
there’s away a consensus could be reached so that everyone is taken care of and happy! If you were to
poll the families in the immediate area I bet 70% if not more have dogs that would use the dog park don’t
they deserve to have their needs taken into consideration as well?
