I’m genuinely excited about the planned improvements and appreciate the City’s investment in upgrading the park. At the same time, I’d like to better understand how two key neighborhood impacts are being addressed, as I was unable to find information on these topics on the project website. 1. Traffic and Parking Impact Has the City completed a traffic and parking impact study for the Emerson Park redevelopment, and is a public summary available? Street parking around Emerson Park, including Pacific, Pismo, Nipomo, and Beach Streets and surrounding blocks, is already very difficult for existing residents. Where will additional park visitors park if residents already have to park one to two blocks from their homes during peak hours? 2. Noise from Dog Park Activity The project includes a new dog park that will likely become a primary gathering spot for downtown dog owners. How is the City evaluating and planning to mitigate increased noise from dog activity for nearby residents? Thank you for your time and for the work you’re doing to improve our parks. I appreciate any information you can share. Best regards, Heather Lambert 1
