Dear City Council Members,
I am writing as a lifelong, born-and-raised resident of San Luis Obispo. I have lived in SLO for over 50
years and have had generations of my own family enjoying Laguna Lake Golf Course. My parents, my
husband and I, and our adult children have all benefited from the course for most of our lives, our sons
since they were little.
Having a city course where children can learn, and where schools and clubs can afford to teach students,
is incredibly valuable to our community. Even now, many of our sons’ college friends are out on the
course almost every week.
Not only is this beautiful course a jewel for our community, it is uniquely accessible to all ages and skill
levels. A suggestion to eliminate this great asset to our city shows a lack of awareness of how important
the course is to the community.
Perhaps the Council member who often suggests eliminating this city course is not aware of the
enjoyment it brings to all ages within our community.
After all, we are always telling our kids to get off their screens and go outside!
