Subject:2.3.26 meeting, agenda item 7 - Laguna Lake Golf Course Study Session
Dear Mayor Stewart and San Luis Obispo City Council Members,
After reading the city staff report on Laguna Lake golf course, it's clear that this is both a community
asset and opportunity for more recreational offerings. As a resident in the area, I can attest to diversity of
users of the golf course as stated on page 16, section 7a. As a mother of three active boys who have used
the course for golf, September scramble, and cross country meets, I can attest to the lack of lighted
sports fields to support youth and adult activities, as stated on page 21, section 7a.
It feels like there is an opportunity to create a multiuse recreational area that would benefit community
members of all ages. I would also encourage affordability of these activities to remain top of mind since
the area houses low income community members, and many kids who go to school with my own, in the
two neighboring apartment complexes.
