Subject:Laguna Golf Course
My husband & I would like to commend our City Councils that, over the years, have recognized the benefit of
open space & recreational facilities for the health & well-being of our community. The numerous parks, hiking
trails, golf course, pool, tennis & pickle ball courts, etc.; all developed to enhance the quality of life for current &
future residents.
My husband & I have played at Laguna Lade Golf Course for at least 25 years. As retired seniors we are so
appreciative of having such a lovely facility available within the City & look forward to renovations & expansions
of programming. We have seen the course utilized by a wide range of golfers: seniors, students (both youth &
college aged), and visitors to SLO. We have been participants in community group golfing activities & BBQs.
All adding value to life here isn SLO.
Finally, we’d like to point out that Lagura Golf Course is one of the few revenue producing Parks & Recreation
activities. Tennis is free. Pickle Ball is free. Volley Ball is free. Baseball is free. Playgrounds are free. Hiking
trails are free. The Dog Park if free. In other words, Laguna Golf Course & Sinsheimer Pool are the only 2
recreational facilities that produce income to offset maintenance costs. All those parks & activities, free or not,
are wonderful amenities & should be viewed as essential to a healthful community & its residents.
