Subject:SAVE LAGUNA LAKE GOLF COURSE!!!
Dear City Council Members,
Please, whatever you do, don't even THINK of getting rid of Laguna Lake Golf Course!
There are so many reasons for keeping and enhancing the course, but, in keeping with the stated goals of
the city's development plans and the Recreation Department's mission statement, here are a few.
1. By acreage, LLGC is the SECOND LARGEST park in San Luis Obispo!! If you want to preserve and
protect open space now and in the future, this is a good place to start!
2. People of ALL AGES use it! From little kids with their parents to seniors in their 70's 80's and even 90's,
people from throughout SLO and from ALL OVER SLO COUNTY and beyond play LLGC on a regular basis.
3. The potential for expanding, enhancing and developing exciting and innovating related uses is
enormous. At the same time, the costs related for doing so are quite small compared to other projects
the city has looked at and considered.
4. Laguna Lake Golf Course is a unique and special gem that NO OTHER CITY in SLO County can offer! In
fact, few other cities in California have their own municipal golf course. It is a special place indeed,
underappreciated and even neglected by the city for too long. NOW is the time to step up, save the
course, plan for enhancements and exciting additions and put Laguna Lake Golf Course on the path for
another 70 years!
PLEASE, DO THE RIGHT THING!!!
Sincerely,
Gary Linquist
