Subject:Emerson park
We are a family of four who have lived within three blocks of Emerson Park for over twenty years. Our children
are or have been youth athletes who spend time with their friends and family enjoying the freely available
grassy area for recreational purposes. We find no other play fields available for our use (Hawthorn is fenced
and locked most of the time). We were dismayed to find that the proposed changes to our neighborhood park
never included the option to preserve the entire grassy field. Please consider the wishes of this long term
neighborhood family and leave the grassy field as it is. BTW, we are a dog family and our need for a playing
field far outweighs any desire for a dog park.
