Subject:Laguna Lake Golf Course Study Session - February 3, 2026 - Agenda Item #7
Hello,
My name is Steve Lawless and I live in Cambria. My wife and travel from Cambria to run errands and then
enjoy a round of golf at laguna lake. There are a lot of people who travel to the area for shopping, lunch and
then enjoy a round. Removing the golf course would cause people to travel to Paso Robles instead to enjoy
golf during their day. Both of my sons live in Morro Bay and enjoy golfing there as well. My son went to Cal
Poly and a lot of students enjoy the facility. They also provide youth classes and lessons for the community.
Laguna lake provides local jobs and is a wonderful facility for the youth to enjoy and learn about golf. There is
already so much housing being developed in San Luis Obispo and this would not benefit anyone. This would
also impact traffic and safety issues as the school is right across the street.
