Subject:Laguna Lake Municipal Golf Course
Dear City Council Members,
I am writing to express my support for preserving the Laguna Lake Municipal Golf Course as a public
recreation space and community greenbelt for the City of San Luis Obispo.
Laguna Lake Golf Course is a rare and valuable city-owned asset that serves residents of all ages and
backgrounds. With creativity and smart planning, the course can become an even more inclusive hub
that reflects San Luis Obispo’s commitment to health, sustainability, and quality of life.
As a parent, this issue is deeply personal to me. My child—and many other children in our community—
uses the golf course as an after-school activity. It provides a safe, outdoor environment where kids can
be active, build skills, and develop a lifelong connection to recreation and open space. Preserving this
course means preserving those opportunities for current and future generations.
Protecting Laguna Lake Municipal Golf Course as an affordable, city-owned recreational resource
ensures that San Luis Obispo continues to prioritize public access, environmental stewardship, and
community well-being. I respectfully ask you to support its preservation and future-focused
improvement.
