Subject:Emerson Park - Reduce Size of Proposed Dog Park
I’m writing as a resident who regularly enjoys Emerson Park. While I fully support the need for park
renovations, I have concerns about the proposed size of the new dog park.
The grassy field is a valuable, multi-use space for our community, hosting youth sports, pickup soccer
games, picnics, and relaxation for residents of all ages. The current dog park proposal, however, seems
to prioritize dog owners at the expense of these other important activities.
If a dedicated dog park is necessary, and I’d note that the park already accommodates many dogs in its
current layout, I respectfully suggest reducing its size by at least half. This adjustment would better
balance the needs of all park users while still providing a space for dogs.
