Subject:Emerson Park - 2/4/26 mtg comments
Hello advisory board,
I live just a few blocks from Emerson Park and wanted to share my feedback about the proposed plan for
upgrades in conjunction with the state grant since I am unable to attend the meeting in person.
Several years ago, my son and I participated in the initial study session to provide community input on new
amenities we would like at this park.
Now that I am seeing what is proposed for the project, I am disappointed to see that the large grass area is
being reduced. Although my kids have grown up and left our home now, when they were younger, we used
that large grass area quite often for soccer practices, T-ball games, etc. The other downtown park- Mitchell -
does not provide adequate space for organized sport and team activities. So please do not eliminate that grass
area here. It is an important space for both youth and adult outdoor activities.
Thank you for reconsidering the dog park addition.
