Subject: Save Laguna Lake Golf Course
Hello,
I am writing to express my disappointment that the City of San Luis Obispo is considering
alternative uses for the Laguna Lake Golf Course, and to strongly urge the City Council to retain
it as a golf course.
As a former Cal Poly student, Laguna Lake Golf Course provided me with a convenient and
affordable place to learn and improve my golf game. Now, with family still in the area, I continue
to use the course regularly with my stepbrother and uncle, and have recently begun teaching my
children there as well. Its nine-hole layout and relaxed, welcoming atmosphere make it an ideal
environment for learning, family outings, and accessible recreation for all ages.
Laguna Lake Golf Course is more than just open space-it is a valued community asset. It serves
local high school and college classes, supports youth development programs like First Tee, and
remains an important recreational outlet for families, seniors, and visitors. Removing or
repurposing the course would eliminate an affordable, multigenerational resource that brings
long-term community benefit.
I respectfully ask that the City Council preserve Laguna Lake Golf Course and continue investing
in it as the unique community gem it has long been.
Thank you for your time and consideration
Sincerely,
fr", Rd*/
