Subject:Emerson Park Plan
Dear Parks and Recreation Commissioners,
I was not able to stay for the entire meeting on February 4th. First I want to let you know I
appreciated the opportunity to be heard. Secondly, there is no way in the world I have the
patience to do what you do, I really did try to listen on line to the remainder of the meeting
and it was beyond my tolerance to do so.
I do understand that $ may be set aside (add alt.) for a dog park with a decision to be made
within a specified time (under 2 years). Kudos for coming up with this creative idea!
I hope that the turf at Emerson Park will remain, and the possibility of a dedicated dog park
will ultimately be withdrawn. Multi use of this space will be a win for people, a win for pups
(dogs already use this space, there is no need for a dedicated dog park here) and a win for the
existence of plants! Green space is good for all of us.
In the event that it is ultimately decided to nix the dedicated dog park, maybe those funds
could go to adding bocce courts, seating and shade to accommodate our aging population
who may enjoy the less physically demanding sport of bocce.
Respectfully,
Christie Cutter
