He enumerates the many reasons why keeping the course is highly justified. It’s important to many parts of our community and there is no other such proximal facility. This morning on KCBX I heard a piece on the course about the proposal for its use to build affordable housing and an adjacent park. Having more affordable housing and parks in our community is a need , but why at the sacrifice of a facility that serves so many in our community? I suggest a section of Laguna Lake Park, off Madonna Rd, be used instead. Much of its open space goes unused. It seems there is sufficient land for affordable housing, an associated park and dog park. Using some of Laguna Lake Park land will achieve providing a location for affordable housing and retain the Laguna Lake Golf Course to serve our community Tom?????? Thomas L. My wife and I are seniors, and we have been playing this course regularly since the 1990s. For us, and for many others, this course is far more than just a place to golf—it is how we stay active, connected, and engaged with our community. Laguna Lake provides an affordable way to exercise and maintain social connections, especially for those of us on fixed incomes. It is our primary source of physical activity and an important social outlet. Without it, many seniors would lose a vital part of their daily lives. This course is also a tremendous community asset. It serves a wide variety of local residents, including schools, youth programs, kids’ clinics, and community golf tournaments. In my personal experience, I have seen three generations of families use and enjoy this course together. That kind of continuity and community value is rare and deeply meaningful. I respectfully ask that you please consider the many people who rely on Laguna Lake Golf Course on a regular basis. Taking it away would have a significant impact on seniors, families, and community members who depend on it for affordable recreation, health, and social connection. Please do not take this away from us. Thank you for your time and thoughtful consideration. Sincerely, George Kirk 2
