Subject:NOTE OF APPRECIATION! FEBRUARY 3, 2026 COUNCIL MEETING, REF.: ITEM # 7,
STUDY SESSION @ LAGUNA LAKE MUNICPAL GOLF COURSE
Attachments:1613 Gathe Drive.pdf
Office of the Clerk: Your office may not receive many THANK YOU notes! However, in that
vein, I am sharing both electronically and via forthcoming snail mail my heartfelt gratitude to
the Council for NOT up-ending the lives of those LLME residents who live contiguous to, and
“ON”, as is said, the LLMGC. The old adage that “for every action, there is a RE-action” is so
true. I am beholding that this “study” concluded on a POSITIVE note for my neighborhood and
especially for my street.
Thank you so much,
Holly Bundy

RE: ITEM 7a -- February 3, 2026 Meeting – Study Session @Laguna Lake Municipal Golf Course
To Whom It May Concern;
Just a brief THANK YOU note in response to the positively GREAT outcome at the February 3, 2026 SLO
City Council meeting in regard to the future of the Laguna Lake Municipal Golf Course. Personally, I
was MORE than heartened AND happy -- especially in the 120 emails and letters AND in the subsequent
5-0 Council vote in opposition to repurposing.
Reconstructing the 11th HOLE Restaurant and Pro Shop and continuing community-related activities and
events are great assets for and within the ENTIRE San Luis Obispo cradle-to-grave community! I
frequently stand on the back deck of our LLME 9th-hole adjacent home cheering “putters” on the green,
who then royally “take a bow” -- as well as viewing fathers golfing with body-strapped infants; mothers
wheeling babies in strollers; teachers grimacing at their protégés’ “divots”; “bent-bodies” keeping-on-
keeping-on like there is no tomorrow… EVERYONE IS ENTERTAINED!!! (FYI: Adding my dos
centavos… It would augment the area’s minimal eateries to include a beer/wine menu in the restaurant!)
SUBSIDIZING ISSUE SUGGESTIONS... Hold a monthly OUT-OF-THE DOGHOUSE -- FREE -- hot
dog and bottled water day to solicit for the reconstruction funds. On your NEW mailing list, starting with
the names of the 120 supporters and ALL contiguous residencies, ask for donations! Get all of the local
K-16 schools involved in the PROMOTIONAL DRIVE – DRIVING FOR THE GREEN!!! (WHAT A
GREAT PLAY ON WORDS -- Hahaha!!!)
I have NO idea who the newspaper-named supporter Jim Names is, but given his apparent HONESTY,
INTEGRITY, TRANSPARENCY, AND REPRESENTATION in the publication-quoted mantra, it sounds
like HE should be in charge of the “revitalization” PARTY???
Anyway, again… Thank you for supporting not only the community’s continued use of this wonderful
green space facility but for keeping in mind the hundreds of thousands of dollars that have been expended
by residents who purposely purchased a golf course view home. It is quite obvious that an opposing
outcome would have decimated personal plans, dreams, and property value.
One final KUDO… Since purchasing our Laguna Lake Mobile Estates park property in 2017, my husband
and I have requested property-related assistance several times from SLO City. Each solicitation was
addressed personally, promptly, and professionally, including one case requiring coordination across several
departments. In this day of endless red-tape bureaucracy, it is indeed a pleasure to know that employees of
SLO City are so responsive to individual needs.
Sincerely,
Holly Bundy

P.S.: In doing a bit of research for this correspondence, I printed off and read all of the Council’s
attachments, learning much… Although I had heard that LLME was once monikered as BILLY GOAT
ACRES, I am wondering if the section entirety was once a Spanish Land Grant, having a legal document
description of El Rancho Cañada de los Osos y la Laguna??? (FYI: After studying one of the attached
report maps with a RED EARTHQUAKE FAULT LINE marked inside of the LLME Park, I pray that the
name does not become El Rancho Cañada de los Osos, la Laguna, y el TEMBLOR??? YIKES!!!)
