SUBJECT : APPOINTMENTS TO THE PARKS AND RECREATIO N
COMMISSION AND THE TOURISM BUSINESS IMPROVEMEN T

RECOMMENDATIO N
1)Appoint Michael Parolini and re-appoint Ron Regier to the Parks and Recreatio n
Commission to fill two regular vacancies with terms expiring March 31, 2016 .
2)Appoint Lindsey Ridgeway to the Tourism Business Improvement District Board to fil l
an unscheduled vacancy with a term expiring March 31, 201 6
DISCUSSIO N
Council's action on February 21, 2012, to combine the Parks and Recreation Commission (PRC )
with the Shared Use of Recreational Facilities Committee (SURF) resulted in "holding off on "
interviews during the annual Advisory Body recruitment for the PRC .
Subsequently, on March 14, 2012, Council Liaison Subcommittee Member Mayor Jan Marx an d
Council Member Andrew Carter conducted interviews for the PRC, which included two forme r
members of SURF . Following the interviews, the Subcommittee Members recommended the re -
appointment of Mr . Regier and the appointment of Mr . Parolini .
Council Subcommittee Members Dan Carpenter and Kathy Smith conducted interviews for th e
TBID . Following the interviews, the Subcommittee Members recommended the appointment o f
Lindsey Ridgeway .
