North Chorro Greenway Year Post Report
Please remove the unsupported claim that, “Bicycle volumes increased by an average of 69
percent corridor-wide”. The presented data does not support this claim and the report does not
provide corridor-wide data for the Chorro bicycle corridor. Ideally counts on all three parallel
streets (Lincoln, Chorro & Broad) should be collected for the length of the corridor.
Protected bicycle lanes on Chorro under the freeway (between Walnut and Lincoln) are a critical
safety improvement, but the presented data doesn't provide relevant pre/post counts to assess
the project impact. What is needed is simply a count on Chorro at either Walnut or Lincoln.
Looking at the provided data, it appears that travel through the corridor likely went up ... .but this
can’t be distinguished from cyclists shifting to/from parallel streets.
