Subject:SLO City Grant Application Written Support
I am writing to express my support for and commitment to the grant application submitted by
UndocuSupport / The Community Foundation. This grant will facilitate a vital collaboration between San
Luis Coastal Unified School District, WomenAde, and Corazon Latino, aiming to address the needs of our
most vulnerable community members in San Luis Obispo.
This partnership will provide essential support through group sessions and direct aid to families. San Luis
Coastal Unified is committed to supporting the complex emotional needs of our students and their
families, and we are proud to collaborate with Corazon Latino to offer much-needed assistance. We
understand that students thrive academically when their basic needs are met and they feel emotionally
secure and this grant ensures that both their emotional and physical needs are prioritized.
The impact of this partnership will extend well beyond the life of the grant, especially with WomenAde’s
continued support. In a time of education budget cuts, this grant offers an invaluable resource for
families who face increasing challenges. The emotional support groups, facilitated by Corazon Latino,
will be a critical tool in helping our families navigate these difficult times. Likewise, the support provided
to WomenAde will be invaluable for our family advocates and counselors who connect families with
resources for basic needs.
