OPTION TO RENEW AND AMENDMENT No. 1
To the CONTRACT FOR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES
COUNTY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES
Entered into by and between the County of San Luis Obispo, a public entity in the State of
California, (hereafter “County”) and the City of San Luis Obispo, a California municipal
corporation, (hereafter “City”), together “Parties” and individually “Party”.
WHEREAS, on September 24, 2024, County and Contractor entered into a contract for fiscal
year 2024-25 (the “Contract”) under which Contractor agreed to provide certain services; and
WHEREAS, County and Contractor have a need to exercise the option to renew the Contract
as per Exhibit C, Section 4. “Option to Renew for One Year”; and
WHEREAS, County and Contractor have a need to amend the Contract to update the scope
of services, other terms and the budget under the Contract; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors delegated to the Health Agency Director or designee
the authority to decide whether to exercise the option to renew this Contract for two (2) successive
one (1)-year periods; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors delegated to the Health Agency Director or designee
the authority to amend the Contract to exchange, delete, or add to the types of services as per
Exhibit D.
NOW THEREFORE, the Parties agree that the Contract is amended as follows:
1. The Contract, Exhibit A, Section 1. “Mobile Crisis Unit (MCU),” subsection b.1). viii., is
deleted and replaced in its entirety with the following:
viii. Assist the MCU in assessing and transporting individuals to be detained under voluntary
or involuntary psychiatric/mental health holds, and, when appropriate under the
professional judgment of the Licensed Psychiatric Technician, petition for and participate
in judicial processes to extend involuntary commitment orders and/or conservatorships of
the person.
2. The Contract, Exhibit C, Section 3. “Duration Date.”, subsection a., is deleted and replaced
in its entirety with the following:
a. This Contract shall remain in effect from July 1, 2025, until June 30, 2026, unless
terminated sooner pursuant to Exhibit D, Section 5., “Termination for Convenience” of the
Contract.

3. All other terms and conditions of the Contract and any amendments not expressly modified
herein shall remain in full force and effect.
4. In any instance in which a provision of this Option to Renew and Amendment No. 1
contradicts or is inconsistent with provisions of the Contract, the provision of this Option to
Renew and Amendment No. 1 shall prevail.
5. The effective date of this Option to Renew and Amendment No. 1 shall be July 1, 2025.
6. This Option to Renew and Amendment No. 1 may be executed in counterparts, each of which
shall be deemed to be an original, but all of which, when taken together, shall constitute one
and the same agreement. This Option to Renew and Amendment No. 1 may be executed and
delivered by facsimile, scanned signature, or electronically by any of the Parties and the
receiving Party may rely on the receipt of such document so executed and delivered by
facsimile, email, or other electronic delivery method, as if the original had been received and
shall have the same legal validity and enforceability as a manually executed signature.

Amendment No. 1 on the day and year set forth below.
