The red curb starts about 4 feet from the crsswalk. The red curb is 14 feet according to my measurements, which means the red curb needs to be extended at least 2 feet. Under VC 22514, no vehicle may park within 15 feet of a fire hydrant. The red curb, which extends beyond the fir hydrant is 14 feet. Extending the red curb all the way to the driveway would make sense, given that cars which presently park in that space often block traffic coming into the neighborhood, especially when cars on the opposite side of the street are trying to exit into the roundabout. Please double check my measurements and consider red painting the entire curb from the crosswalk to the driveway. Also the curb in that space should be painted red, given the close proximity of the fire hydrant and the cross walk. Your website will not let me upload photos. It is hard to avoid hitting the truck, exiting the roundabout and entering the neighborhood.   View Request   1 From:Kolin, Meghan Sent:Monday, March 2, 2026 10:49 AM To:Schwartz, Luke Cc:Wheeler, Bryan Subject:Red curb work order at San Luis Ranch/Froom Ranch Attachments:San Luis Ranch Red Curb Extension WO.pdf Follow Up Flag:Follow up Flag Status:Completed Hi Luke, Just reaching out to pass along a work order for your review to extend some red curb at the San Luis Ranch/Froom Ranch roundabout per the community request Bryan sent me this morning. She was having an issue with AskSLO, so forwarded directly to me. Looks like she is concerned about the length of red curb at Froom and San Luis Ranch Road. Not clear from the photos, but sounds like her concern is if there is 15’ restricted on either side of the hydrant as well as appropriate restriction to a crosswalk per the Daylighting Law. @Schwartz, Luke is someone on your team able to do a field visit to verify if adjustments to the length of red curb are necessary?
