Council Subcommittee to the Promotional Coordinating Committee PREPARED BY: Kim Condon, Assistant City Clerk VIA: Diane Gladwell, City Cler% SUBJECT: Appointment Recommendations to the Promotional Coordinating Committee RECOMMENDATION: By motion, appoint Bill Pyper to a four-year term to expire 3/31/97, and appoint Kathy Smith to a three-year term to expire 3/31/96. DISCUSSION: The terms of Evelyn Delmartini and Dan Pittaway will expire on March 31, 1993. The City advertised twice for applicants to this committee and received only two applications. Both applicants were interviewed by the Council subcommittee. The Subcommittee is pleased to recommend the appointment of Bill Pyper to a four-year term, and Kathy Smith to a three year term. I would like to see this persentage the overall dollar volume increase, particularly in view of the cut backs at Cal Poly and other state and government funded agencies Tourism and convention business is a good clean source of income for our city while havinga relatively low demand on city services.
