Much of what our citizens consider and value is outside our control. I would like to suggest the following for inclusion: Page 4 After first paragraph insert new paragraph to read: "Many areas considered as important'open space' to the citizens of San Luis Obispo are outside of the purview of the City Council. In order to protect and preserve these resources; the City shall make its highest priority those programs which strengthen and coordinate policies and programs with the County, State, non-profit organizations and private property interests." At our last meeting there was discussion about where to include a map of currently held open space. I firmly believe this is very important. It would also be helpful to see the cumulative effect of other "open space" held by other agencies or organizations within our Ply Page 8 Under 1.£, insert the following: "Work with other affected agencies and organizations to illustrate and document all 'open space' holdings in the areas outlined in the Open Space Element."
