the Department Director [Fire Chief ] within 5 days of report issuance if noted violations do not create an immediate danger
to health and safety (SLO M.C. 1.24.090).

Inspection Notes:Note: Annual fire sprinkler inspection conducted 09/11/2024, License No. 761360. Title 19 inspection
report reviewed during inspection with property management.
Note: Annual fire alarm inspection conducted 09/11/2024, License No. 761360.
Note: Annual fire extinguisher maintenance conducted 04/24/2024, License No. 20219 (multiple
locations onsite).
Note: Unable to inspect / test all emergency exit lighting installed on the property during inspection
due to limited access. Business owner is directed to provide inspection log for emergency exit
lighting and repair (or replace) any lighting found non-operable during inspection. This item is to be
completed within 45 business days of this notice.
Note: Exterior covers for electrical wiring and motor assembly for the reclining chairs inside movie
theatres found removed (multiple theatre locations). Electrical wiring found exposed in several
locations. This item has not been resolved since prior inspection (02/28/24) and has been referred
over to the City Building Department for further follow-up and investigation. See City Code Case No.
000124-2024 and attached records.
Note: Panic hardware on the side exit door (theatre No.6) found broken during inspection. Property
management is directed to repair (or replace) panic hardware in this location.
Note: Existing key(s) inspected inside the Knox-box during inspection with the property
management. Per property management keys(s) are current for this property.
Business owner(s) are directed to address the following item(s) prior to requesting a follow-up
inspection.
*Please note: If a third inspection is required due to non-compliance, a fire-inspection fee of $271 may be charged for that inspection, and
every inspection thereafter until compliance is obtained. Failure to comply may result in a misdemeanor citation and an appearance by

1) Repair (or replace) exterior cover(s) for the reclining chairs installed inside movie theatres as noted
above.
2) Provide record of inspection for all emergency exit lighting installed on the property.
Property management is directed to address the following items prior to requesting a follow-up
inspection.
3) Repair (or replace) panic hardware for the side exit door, theatre No.6.
Upon completion of items No.1, please contact the City Building Department (805) 781-7170 to
request a follow-up inspection. Upon completion of items No.2-3, please contact the SLOFD
Inspection Line (805) 783-7775 to request a follow-up inspection.

Panic and fire exit hardware.
Swinging doors serving a Group H occupancy
and swinging doors serving rooms or spaces
with an occupant load of 50 or more in a
Group A or E occupancy, assembly area not
classified as an assembly occupancy, E, I-2 or
I-2.1 occupancies shall not be provided with a
latch or lock other than panic hardware or fire
exit hardware. For Group L occupancies see
Section 453.6.3 of the California Building
Code.
Exceptions:
1.A main exit of a Group A occupancy shall be
permitted to have locking devices in
accordance with Section 1010.2.4, Item 3.
2.Doors provided with panic hardware or fire
exit hardware and serving a Group A or E
occupancy shall be permitted to be
electrically locked in accordance with Section
1010.2.12 or 1010.2.11.
3.Exit access doors serving occupied exterior
areas shall be permitted to be locked in
accordance with Section 1010.2.4, Item 8.
4.Courtrooms shall be permitted to be locked
in accordance with Section 1010.2.13, Item 3.

Open junction boxes and open-wiring splices
shall be prohibited. Approved covers shall be
provided for all switch and electrical outlet
boxes.
