BACKGROUND: Vice Mayor Allen Settle agreed to cover the interviews for Mayor Pinard, who was unable to attend due to a scheduling conflict. Two terms will expire 3/31/94: Allan Cooper, who cannot reapply because he has served the maximum terms allowed, and Jim Aiken, who has reapplied. After advertising and interviewing all candidates available, the Subcommittee agreed to recommend the reappointment of Jim Aiken but was unable to reach a unanimous decision on the second nominee. Council Policies & Procedures states that, "If a unanimous decision for recommendation cannot be reached, the Council shall take a separate motion for each candidate proposed by each member of the Council Liaison Subcommittee." • Vice Mayor Allen Settle's recommendation for appointment to a three year term to expire 3/31/97 is Tim Farrell. • Council Member Dave Romero's recommendation for appointment to a three year term to expire 3/31/97 is Patrick Bolger.
