Gladwell, City Clerk SUBJECT: APPOINTMENT RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE JT. REC. USE OF SCHOOL DISTRICT PROPERTY COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: By motion, appoint Marianne Michels to a four-year term to expire on 3/31/98, and George Glaser to a three-year term to expire on 3/31/97, and thank Jack Dewar for his many years of service. BACKGROUND: Two terms will expire on the Joint Use Committee on 3/31/94: Jim McBride, who has chosen not to reapply, and Jack Dewar, who is not eligible to reapply because he has served the maximum two consecutive terms (8 years). After advertising and interviewing all applications, the Subcommittee is pleased to recommend Marianne Michels and George Glaser for appointment. The nominee's application are attached. All others are available in the Council Office for your review. ATTACHMENT Application - 2 I A5- I Reason for Applying MY family and I moved to San Luis Obispo 1 1/2 years ago to become an integral part of a amaller community, one in which government was a more :tangeable entity. Along with this came a desire . to become a. more active participant in community affairs and perhaps have a chance to assist local government with providing programs/facilities that most benefit the community. The Joint Recreational Use Committee appears like a good starting Point for me to become more actively involved because I enjoy a variety of recreational activities and much appreciate. the existing programs and facilities. I believe I would find it a fullfiling challenge and reward to participate in determining how to optimally use the recreational facilities we have, particularly in light of today's budgetary constraints.
