I think that “prevention” should be the first step in ANY Traffic Safety Plan.
I see too many drivers that are driving distracted:
Dogs in the drivers laps
“Stuff” hanging from rear view mirrors
Use of Electric devices
I also see too many motorists (sometimes even police patrol drivers):
Not using their turn signals
Too many drivers not obeying stop signs in neighborhoods
Too many drivers cutting corners and driving on wrong side of the road in neighborhoods
I also think the City of SLO has too many traffic delineators on major streets which serve to
only confuse motorists.
The lack of helmets being worn by:
Parents (not wearing helmets) multi-seat bicycles carrying children who ARE wearing
helmets. What kind of message is that?
Riders on e-bikes, e-scooters, skateboards and bicycles not obeying stop signs; and
cutting corners into opposite-going traffic lanes
