Subject:Public Comment for 5/19/26 Meeting
Hello,
Id like to add my input on where there needs to be attention for pedestrian safety. I have frequently seen
people crossing Santa Rosa and Oak st and barely making it safe across the street. People are often
crossing from the gas station to get to the other side of the street or from Oak street to get to the park. I
have seen many near misses of cars swerving lanes to avoid hitting the person or the car in front of them
from braking suddenly. I also saw the aftermath of the woman who was hit and killed early in the morning
of Dec 17, 2025 and they left her body on the street for hours very poorly covered with a small tarp. This
was a seriously traumatizing thing to witness on my way to work. I drive down Santa Rosa everyday to and
from work and I see at least 4 people a week running across this intersection.
I would love to see a cross walk like the one at Foothill and Ferrini Road or like Madonna and Dalido Dr
with the big flashing lights to get traffic to stop.
