Subject:Please adopt the Vision Zero Action Plan
Hi City Council,
I cycle to work from the Avila Ranch neighborhood to Cal Poly - I love being able to commute on my bike,
it means my family can get by with one car, it's good for the environment, for my fitness, it's free! But,
most days there's at least one near miss. I'm a mom to a young kid, and I worry that my choice of
transport is putting my life at risk, and hate the idea of my son growing up without a mom because I
chose to cycle to work, and some idiot driver wasn't looking. I am on high alert at all times, anticipating
every driver's lack of signal, negligence to check their mirrors or blocking a cycle lane because it's
convenient for them to pull into one.
Please please please adopt the vision zero action plan and make our roads safer for cyclists and
pedestrians.
