Subject:Support for the Vision Zero Action Plan
Dear Mayor and City Council Members,
I’m writing to express my support for adopting the Vision Zero Action Plan.
As a resident and student in San Luis Obispo, I believe improving traffic safety for people walking, biking,
and driving should be a priority. Too many serious crashes and fatalities continue to occur on our streets,
especially on major corridors near neighborhoods, schools, and Cal Poly.
I appreciate the city’s focus on safer street design, lower vehicle speeds in high-risk areas, improved bike
and pedestrian infrastructure, and data-driven safety improvements. These changes can make SLO safer
and more accessible for everyone while preserving the character of the city.
I encourage the Council to adopt the Vision Zero Action Plan and continue investing in projects that
reduce severe injuries and traffic deaths.
