Subject:I Support Vision Zero Action Plan!
Hi SLO City Council,
I urge you to vote in support of the Vision Zero Action Plan today at City Hall today. As a cyclist and
someone who commutes to work on a bike, I have experienced first hand the dangers of cycling on the
road and near collision experiences with vehicles. I have almost been hit by cars several times, despite
following all traffic laws, and have had multiple friends actually been hit in SLO by cars. I have also been
hit while driving 3 separate times by cars in SLO, all while I have been following traffic laws. I luckily have
walked away unscathed from all of these experiences, but my fear around commuting on the road,
especially the busy roads, grows each time I go on them. Any solutions to making the most dangerous
roads in SLO a little bit safer would be greatly appreciated by both the biking and driving communities.
This is why I strongly support the Vision Zero Action Plan and I urge you to put it into action!
